Thoughts On An Updated Christianity

Okay folks, since it’s Sunday, let’s talk about the current state of Christianity. And please know ahead of time that I’m no religious expert and that this is just an open, honest sharing. And I’m cool with whatever anyone chooses to believe. This is not meant to “stir the pot” or offend anyone. It might, [more…]

Book: Dying To Be Me

Hello Good Folks. So we got The God Post out of the way, and then we talked about these deeper feelings of peace that supposedly live inside each of us, underneath our old pain and wounds. Now let’s talk about the amazing and transformative book that I’ve recently mentioned, Dying To Be Me by Anita Moorjani. Because [more…]

The God Post

NOTE: If you’re here to check me out as a potential counselor, this might or might not be a good measuring stick of what you’ll find, depending on your beliefs. I love to write about my take on “deep stuff,” but I’m an excellent and effective counselor for an atheist, too! I do my best to teach [more…]

Spiritual, Religious, Atheist, or Agnostic? All Good!

Hello, good folks. When I’ve written before about stuff that might be perceived as “spiritual,” I know that some might have thought that I hate religion or judge people that follow a religion. So I’m writing this to make it clear that I definitely, absolutely, positively don’t! I’ll admit that I totally used to, though. I’m [more…]

A Belated Easter Message For All Humans

I did not intend to write these recent posts with different takes on Christian themes, but such is life; it twists and turns like a river. Unless, of course, the Army Corps of Engineers tries to straighten the river, as they did to Central Florida’s Kissimmee River in the 1960’s. This predictably turned out to be an [more…]

The Gospel of Thomas & Our Innocent Judgments

This post is a continuation of my previous post on the innocence of our judgments and how we don’t have to judge them. We judge so much, and then we judge ourselves for judging. And if you look, you’ll see that the secondary one is where the real pain is. And it is optional! The first one [more…]

Gently Joyous Lessons

I think I’ve mentioned Carrie Triffet before here. Or maybe not? Either way, she’s a badass. If you’re at all interested in the idea of Oneness and what that might look like as a living, breathing spiritual practice today (living on earth in these seemingly separate bodies), then she’s your guide. Start with her first [more…]

Christmas

I’ve written about Thanksgiving and the holidays in general, as well as not waiting for life to slow down for you to slow down. Now we write about the culmination of the holidays for many people, Christmas. I know that New Year’s Eve is a week later, but that seems like it’s more about just [more…]

Religion 101

Today it’s time to talk about everybody’s favorite non-controversial topic, religion! Next we can talk about sex and politics… These are really just some very general thoughts about religion, but they’re pretty healthy to ponder. My take on the world’s main religions is that they were all started by someone who knew what was up. [more…]

Yoga

Yoga is great. I don’t do much of it these days, and I’m sure my body would prefer that I did. Since it’s getting a bit cold for paddleboarding, I need something to do for exercise. Perhaps this winter, I’ll start doing yoga some again. Yoga was the first step on the path when I [more…]

All anybody really wants is peace. The good news is that peace can be learned. I’m serious. This should be taught in middle school, but it’s not. So I’m teaching it now.
